Whenever I’m in the car or any sort of vehicle, it’s impossible to carry on a conversation with me. I always have my earphones plugged in, which makes me deaf to the rest of the world. My mom complains about it a lot, especially when it’s just the two of us in the car.
So here’s a photo of me, once again plugged into my iPod. And those are the old pair of rarely worn jeans that I turned into a pair of shorts thanks to a pair of scissors. No I don’t plan to sew the edges, I kind of like the frayed edges.
Photo details:
Canon EOS Rebel G / 50mm 1.8 / Fujicolor Superia X-tra 400.

When my older brother and I do photography experiments at home, we always make sure to do a couple of test shots before we go over to the actual shooting.
Last night, it was for this shot.

We decided to do a couple of test shots to make sure that the light would look good, the TV’s glow wouldn’t be too much. So we asked our model (our little brother) to stand in front of the camera. I had to check on a few things on the computer, so I set it on self timer and pressed the remote as I was about to leave the room.
When I got back, I saw this photo.

Seriously. It’s enough to make lose sleep for an entire lifetime.

For the past few weeks, Kat and I have been busy contacting photographers from Flickr and deviantART, to ask for interviews for our latest project, Photocurious.
We contacted a total of 26 photographers. 24 people responded with a yes, we were able to interview 12 people, and we’re currently waiting for 12 more people to allow us to interview them.
I think that’s when I realized that I hate writing and answering emails. Especially when I’m running on only two hours of sleep.
But anyway. We’re all set in the interviews department. If you’d like to see the how our hard work has paid off, go check out our feature month.
Oh, and I’ve started shooting again. ;)

I haven’t touched any of cameras since July.
It feels pretty weird to be the co-owner of a photography blog, and still not do any shooting.
It’s also frustrating to want to shoot but still not be able to gather up enough motivation to actually pick up a camera (I have 7 cameras, it shouldn’t be too hard to pull off, right?). My Flickr stream has been sitting quietly for the past few weeks, surviving on occasional uploads, thanks to my older brother’s DSLR (he always brings it along, and I take a few snaps when he isn’t using it – nothing spectacular, though).
So I’m drawing hope from what Rosie Hardy said during our interview with her:
You’re still feeling, right? Unless you’re not breathing there’s inspiration right there in an uninspired state.
I’m going to shoot again, eventually.

Since I’m very tired, and I have a mild case of sore throat (where’s a big bottle of Bactidol when you need it?), I’m going to make a quick list and go to bed early. Yes, bed at midnight is early for me compared to my usual 3AM or 4AM bedtime.
So here’s what happened during the week:
- I met my cousin for the first time, since it’s her first time to visit the Philippines. She lives in Seattle. After almost a week of not talking, we ended up bonding over books while browsing at Fully Booked.
- Planned a surprise birthday celebration for my cell group leader.
- Caught a cold from someone (I don’t know if I got it from my mom or a friend).
- Went to see Inception with my cousins. It was great.
- Walked from the train station to a mall. It was raining so hard and the traffic was bad, so I couldn’t find any public transportation (especially since it was during the rush-hour period). I don’t know how far I walked, but it was far (for me).
- Heard the new Meg & Dia single.
- Went through with the aforementioned birthday surprise. It was a success.
- Lost my voice (it’s returning, albeit very slowly).
- Drank a copious amount of green tea to help soothe my sore throat.
Now wasn’t that a great week?
